The NMF08113-NF full-metal inductive sensor provides the full rated sensing range for aluminium (K = 1), without the typical range reduction applied to non-ferrous metals.
Thanks to compact M8 dimensions, their use in modern production lines is possible. The slender Ø8 x 60 mm form allows mounting in tight enclosures while maintaining high-quality detection.
Technical specification:
- Diameter: M8, standard diameter for inductive sensors used in industrial automation
- Length: 60 mm, elongated housing with increased mechanical rigidity and high durability
- Detection range: 2 mm, non-contact detection of metal objects with high repeatability
- Detected materials: Aluminium and other non-ferrous metals (steel ignored), detection focused on the actual aluminium part, not on individual filings or chips generated during machining
- Correction factor K: K = 1 for aluminium (full rated sensing range), the full rated range for aluminium makes it easier to design applications without additional assumptions about range reduction
- Housing: Threaded, cylindrical housing with a mounting thread for standard industrial applications
- Housing material: Stainless steel, long sensor lifespan even under intensive use
- Sensor face material: Stainless steel, high mechanical resistance to impact, abrasion, and damage
- Mounting: Non-flush mounting, wider lateral field of action expands application possibilities
- Switching function: NO, used in typical machine control applications
- Plug type: M8, the plug-in design eases servicing and quick sensor replacement
- Supply voltage: DC 10-30V, standard supply voltage range for industrial sensors
Applications
- Stamping and pressing of sheet metal – Using the inductive proximity sensor supports automation of stamping and pressing processes for aluminium sheet metal.
- CNC machines – The NF inductive sensor is used in CNC machines to check the position of aluminium parts and tools.
- Aluminium cable production – The inductive proximity sensor supports checking the presence of aluminium conductor or wire during cable production.
- Packaging and labelling – Applications of the NF non-contact sensor include checking the presence of aluminium parts at packaging and labelling stations.
- Inspection after cutting/machining – Applications of the NF proximity sensor include inspecting parts after machining, even in environments containing fine aluminium fragments.
Benefits/Features
- K = 1 for aluminium – the K = 1 correction factor allows the rated range to be used for detecting aluminium, without having to account for the typical range reduction applied to this material.
- No reaction to individual aluminium chips – fine chips are not the actual part that is meant to be detected when inspecting an aluminium workpiece.
- Durable construction – the monolithic construction increases the resistance of the solution used to inspect aluminium parts and other non-ferrous metals.
- For inspecting parts after machining – can be used to detect the actual aluminium workpiece even in environments where machining residue is present.
- Compact detection setups – the full rated range for aluminium can make it easier to design stations where installation space is limited.
When to choose this model
- For automating aluminium production processes – the metal sensor can check the position and presence of aluminium components at successive production stages.
- When actual range matters – choose this model if, when designing the application, you want to base the detection distance on the value stated in the documentation.
- When machining filings are present at the station – the aluminium detection sensor can be used to inspect the actual workpiece without being intended to detect individual filings.
- For demanding industrial applications – the full-metal inductive sensor will be a suitable choice when, besides aluminium detection, construction durability is important.
The diameter of an inductive sensor is a dimension that defines the width of the sensor element measured in millimeters. This is an important technical parameter as it affects the mounting method and the space required for installation.
Rated detection range is a key parameter of an inductive sensor.Indicates the distance at which the sensor changes its output state when a metal object approaches its front end axially. This is the sensor's most important functional feature—it determines how close the object being detected must be in order to be registered.
