The NMF08011-NF inductive sensor is a solution designed specifically for detecting aluminium, retaining the full Sn sensing range thanks to the correction factor K = 1.
The small M8 dimensions suit use in compact devices. The slim Ø8 x 45 mm profile suits applications in compact devices that require durability and stable operation.
Technical specification:
- Diameter: M8, standard diameter for inductive sensors used in industrial automation
- Length: 45 mm, easy integration with mounting systems and machine structures
- Detection range: 2 mm, detection range depending on the diameter and design of the inductive sensor
- Detected materials: Aluminium and other non-ferrous metals (steel ignored), steel and its derivatives are not a detection target, which reduces the number of unwanted signals in aluminium processes
- Correction factor K: K = 1 for aluminium (full rated sensing range), the correction factor K = 1 means that the rated range Sn applies directly to aluminium, without the typical reduction applied to non-ferrous metals
- Housing: Threaded, allows precise positioning of the sensor during installation
- Housing material: Stainless steel, high resistance to corrosion and chemical exposure
- Sensor face material: Stainless steel, high mechanical resistance to impact, abrasion, and damage
- Mounting: Non-flush mounting, fully exposed detection zone provides maximum sensing range
- Switching function: NO, standard operating logic for inductive sensors in industrial automation
- Cable length: 2 m, the absence of a plug-in connector eliminates extra points of potential interference
- Supply voltage: DC 10-30V, stable operation in DC-powered installations
Applications
- Positioning of aluminium profiles – Using the part-position sensor in aluminium profile positioning systems increases the reliability of industrial automation processes.
- Inspection before resistance welding – The NF sensor supports automatic position checking of parts before resistance-welding aluminium components at welding stations.
- Transport and sorting systems – The inductive sensor for non-ferrous metals performs well in component transport and sorting systems.
- Assembly of building structures – The NF inductive sensor supports automation of aluminium structure assembly processes in the construction industry.
- Compact detection setups – The compact design of the NF sensor makes it easier to design aluminium detection stations in locations with limited installation space.
Benefits/Features
- Monolithic build – being machined from a single piece of metal increases the durability of the solution intended for industrial detection of aluminium and other non-ferrous metals.
- Reduction of unwanted signals – disregarding individual filings and chips can reduce unwanted signals in processes where the actual target is a larger, solid aluminium workpiece.
- Operating selectivity – the ability to disregard individual filings and chips allows operation to be focused on the actual aluminium workpiece.
- K = 1 + non-ferrous metals – the K = 1 correction factor is an important parameter when designing applications that use non-ferrous materials.
- Aluminium + non-ferrous metals + K = 1 – the combination of material specialization and full rated range is an important advantage when designing applications.
When to choose this model
- For aluminium cutting – the sensor for detecting aluminium will work well for checking the presence and position of parts before a cutting operation.
- For position inspection of non-ferrous parts – the model will work well in applications using aluminium and other non-ferrous metals.
- When the sensor operates close to machinery – the metal sensing face and monolithic construction perform well in locations exposed to contact with the working environment.
- When you need a combination of durability and K = 1 – choose the full-metal proximity sensor if the application requires a resistant construction and the full rated range for aluminium.
The diameter of an inductive sensor is a dimension that defines the width of the sensor element measured in millimeters. This is an important technical parameter as it affects the mounting method and the space required for installation.
Rated detection range is a key parameter of an inductive sensor.Indicates the distance at which the sensor changes its output state when a metal object approaches its front end axially. This is the sensor's most important functional feature—it determines how close the object being detected must be in order to be registered.
