The NMF08023-K0.3/M8-NF full-metal inductive sensor stands out for its high mechanical resistance and its ability to disregard individual aluminium filings and chips.
Thanks to the small diameter of M8 sensors, they can be installed in hard-to-reach locations. The Ø8 x 35 mm diameter provides a compact size while ensuring convenient mounting and reliable operation in industrial applications.
Technical specification:
- Diameter: M8, commonly used in industrial automation and process control systems
- Length: 35 mm, versatile dimensions for most industrial automation applications
- Detection range: 1 mm, detection range depending on the diameter and design of the inductive sensor
- Detected materials: Aluminium and other non-ferrous metals (steel ignored), detection focused on the actual aluminium part, not on individual filings or chips generated during machining
- Correction factor K: K = 1 for aluminium (full rated sensing range), the actual sensing range allows the model to be selected based on the actual distance to the aluminium workpiece
- Housing: Threaded, allows precise positioning of the sensor during installation
- Housing material: Stainless steel, high resistance to corrosion and chemical exposure
- Sensor face material: Stainless steel, resistance to corrosion in humid and chemical environments
- Mounting: Flush mounting, stable operating characteristics around metal surroundings
- Switching function: NO, used in typical machine control applications
- Cable length: 0,3 m, the cable design withstands vibration and frequent installation movement
- Supply voltage: DC 10-30V, stable operation in DC-powered installations
Applications
- Stamping and pressing of sheet metal – Using the inductive proximity sensor supports automation of stamping and pressing processes for aluminium sheet metal.
- Aluminium packaging – The NF part-presence sensor performs well on packaging lines for aluminium packaging such as cans or foil.
- Scrap recycling and sorting – Use in scrap sorting and non-ferrous metal recycling increases the selectivity of the aluminium recovery process.
- Inspection before pressing – Applications of the NF sensor include confirming the presence of the actual aluminium part before starting the next pressing stage.
- Multiple processes in one solution – The NF inductive sensor is used where a single solution must handle multiple aluminium-related processes: cutting, stamping, welding, resistance welding, assembly and transport of parts.
Benefits/Features
- Actual sensing range – the designer can select the model based on the actual distance to the aluminium workpiece, instead of applying additional assumptions about range reduction.
- Non-contact aluminium detection – the part can be detected without mechanical contact with its surface, while individual filings and chips are not the actual detection target.
- Construction for demanding applications – the full-metal design allows the solution to be used in machines where mechanical resistance and reliable detection of the actual part are important.
- K = 1 + non-ferrous metals – the K = 1 correction factor is an important parameter when designing applications that use non-ferrous materials.
- Aluminium presence sensor – allows automatic checking of the presence of the actual aluminium part at a specific point in the process.
When to choose this model
- For automating aluminium production processes – the metal sensor can check the position and presence of aluminium components at successive production stages.
- When installation space is limited – the full rated range for aluminium can make it easier to design a compact detection setup.
- When fine aluminium fragments remain after stamping – choose this model if the system is meant to check the presence of the actual part, not react to individual material residue.
- For automatic feeding of aluminium parts – the material-presence sensor will work well for checking a part passing through a specific point in the machine.
The diameter of an inductive sensor is a dimension that defines the width of the sensor element measured in millimeters. This is an important technical parameter as it affects the mounting method and the space required for installation.
Rated detection range is a key parameter of an inductive sensor.Indicates the distance at which the sensor changes its output state when a metal object approaches its front end axially. This is the sensor's most important functional feature—it determines how close the object being detected must be in order to be registered.
