The NWI08004 inductive sensor for welding robots is a robust component of modern automation systems, delivering stable performance in Heavy Duty applications.
Thanks to its small M8 diameter, the sensor can be mounted in hard-to-reach locations around the welding station, Ø8 x 45 mm is a format optimized for mounting in the confined spaces of welding robots.
Technical specification:
- Diameter: M8, the smallest size in this line, good for tight spaces in spot welding
- Length: 45 mm, a compact housing, convenient where mounting space around the resistance-welding machine is limited
- Detection range: 1 mm, repeatable detection of metal parts regardless of the interference generated during welding
- Housing: Threaded, a threaded housing allows precise adjustment of the sensor's position relative to the weld point
- Housing material: Brass with PTFE coating, a PTFE layer on the brass housing reduces weld spatter sticking to the sensor's surface
- Sensor face material: PTFE, a PTFE sensing face prevents metal spatter from welding and resistance welding from sticking
- Mounting: Flush mounting, flush mounting protects the sensor from side impacts and spatter
- Switching function: normally closed (NC), NC logic detects a missing part as an active signal, which makes it easier to control the resistance-welding process
- Output type: PNP, a PNP output that is standard for most new welding automation installations
- Connection: with a 2 m cable, a cable resistant to the vibration and frequent movement typical of welding robots
- Supply voltage: DC 10-30V, a standard voltage range compatible with the power supply of most welding-line control cabinets
- Electromagnetic interference (EMC) resistance: yes, proven resistance to the electromagnetic interference generated by resistance-welding machines and welding robots
- Catalog number: W1CF-M0801P-C3U2
Applications
- It is used in resistance-welding robots as an inductive sensor for resistance-welding robots, operating in the immediate vicinity of the weld point.
- Used on resistance-welding lines and automated resistance welding lines, where cycle repeatability matters most.
- It functions as a position sensor for resistance welding machines and a part-presence sensor for resistance welding, confirming correct part placement before the cycle.
- It supports position control in resistance welding, signaling the machine controller that a part is present in the work zone.
- It is used in welding automation systems and resistance welding automation systems as a feedback element for the PLC controller.
Benefits/Features
- A construction resistant to the welding environment and to spatter generated during welding extends the sensor's real service life on the line.
- An IP67-rated housing protects the sensor's interior against dust and water jets, which matters when cleaning a welding station.
- The sensor is resistant to electromagnetic interference, keeping its output signal stable near operating resistance welding machines.
- As an inductive sensor resistant to electromagnetic interference, it does not generate false triggers during the welding cycle.
- Proven to be resistant to electromagnetic fields, it operates reliably even in the immediate vicinity of the coils and current-carrying cables of a welding machine.
When to choose this model
- When the application involves resistance welding and requires part-presence monitoring.
- When the resistance-welding process requires non-contact detection of metal parts.
- When the production process combines a high degree of automation with demanding welding conditions.
- When you need an inductive sensor for a welding robot operating in a demanding environment.
The diameter of an inductive sensor is a dimension that defines the width of the sensor element measured in millimeters. This is an important technical parameter as it affects the mounting method and the space required for installation.
Rated detection range is a key parameter of an inductive sensor.Indicates the distance at which the sensor changes its output state when a metal object approaches its front end axially. This is the sensor's most important functional feature—it determines how close the object being detected must be in order to be registered.
