The NMF30103-NF full-metal inductive sensor provides the full rated sensing range for aluminium (K = 1), without the typical range reduction applied to non-ferrous metals.
The M30 sensor ensures continuous operation in monitoring and control systems. The large Ø30 x 78 mm size allows use in locations that require an exceptionally secure mount and a long service life.
Technical specification:
- Diameter: M30, stable operation at long detection distances and under intensive use
- Length: 78 mm, suited for operation in demanding industrial conditions
- Detection range: 10 mm, stable inductive switching characteristics under industrial conditions
- Detected materials: Aluminium and other non-ferrous metals (steel ignored), material selectivity makes it possible to disregard fine metal residue that should not be treated as the actual workpiece
- Correction factor K: K = 1 for aluminium (full rated sensing range), the full rated range for aluminium makes it easier to design applications without additional assumptions about range reduction
- Housing: Threaded, allows precise positioning of the sensor during installation
- Housing material: Stainless steel, increased mechanical strength of the housing ensures a long service life
- Sensor face material: Stainless steel, resistance to corrosion in humid and chemical environments
- Mounting: Flush mounting, mounting into metal surfaces per the flush standard
- Switching function: NO, standard operating logic for inductive sensors in industrial automation
- Plug type: M12, connector sensors provide high vibration resistance and signal stability
- Supply voltage: DC 10-30V, standard supply voltage range for industrial sensors
Applications
- Aluminium component production lines – The NF inductive sensor is used on aluminium component production lines to check the presence of parts after machining.
- CNC machines – The NF inductive sensor is used in CNC machines to check the position of aluminium parts and tools.
- Electronic enclosures – Use in the production of aluminium electronic enclosures supports automatic assembly control.
- Automatic assembly stations – The NF inductive sensor performs well at automatic assembly stations, checking the presence of aluminium components before assembly.
- Positioning of aluminium parts – The NF inductive sensor supports the positioning of aluminium parts when correct part alignment is a precondition for the next operation.
Benefits/Features
- K = 1 for aluminium – the K = 1 correction factor allows the rated range to be used for detecting aluminium, without having to account for the typical range reduction applied to this material.
- Part presence sensor – can check the presence of an aluminium part at a specific location without having to react to stray material particles.
- Proximity sensor for non-ferrous metals – performs well for non-contact inspection of aluminium parts and other non-ferrous metals.
- Range without additional correction for aluminium – the ability to use the rated range makes it easier to select the solution for a specific application.
- Comprehensive solution for aluminium detection – the full-metal monolithic construction, metal sensing face, K = 1, actual sensing range and focus on the actual workpiece combine to create a solution for demanding industrial applications.
When to choose this model
- For inspecting parts after cutting – the part-presence sensor will work well for automatically confirming that an aluminium workpiece is in the correct position.
- For non-ferrous metal detection – choose this model when you need a proximity sensor to inspect parts made of aluminium or other non-ferrous materials.
- When the process generates aluminium filings – choose this model if the actual detection target is a larger, solid workpiece, and individual filings should not be treated as the actual part.
- When you need non-contact aluminium inspection – the non-contact sensor makes it possible to check the presence and position of a part without mechanical contact with its surface.
The diameter of an inductive sensor is a dimension that defines the width of the sensor element measured in millimeters. This is an important technical parameter as it affects the mounting method and the space required for installation.
Rated detection range is a key parameter of an inductive sensor.Indicates the distance at which the sensor changes its output state when a metal object approaches its front end axially. This is the sensor's most important functional feature—it determines how close the object being detected must be in order to be registered.
