The advanced NMF30303-NF inductive sensor from the NF series supports the automation of processes where the material to be detected is aluminium, not steel.
This M30 model provides reliability in industrial installations with intensive operation. The Ø30 x 55 mm design increases resistance to mechanical stress, vibration, and intensive use.
Technical specification:
- Diameter: M30, maximum detection range in this size class expands application possibilities
- Length: 55 mm, elongated housing with increased mechanical rigidity and high durability
- Detection range: 10 mm, detection range depending on the diameter and design of the inductive sensor
- Detected materials: Aluminium and other non-ferrous metals (steel ignored), steel and its derivatives are not a detection target, which reduces the number of unwanted signals in aluminium processes
- Correction factor K: K = 1 for aluminium (full rated sensing range), the correction factor K = 1 means that the rated range Sn applies directly to aluminium, without the typical reduction applied to non-ferrous metals
- Housing: Threaded, resistant to loosening during machine operation and vibration
- Housing material: Stainless steel, high resistance to corrosion and chemical exposure
- Sensor face material: Stainless steel, dimensional stability under dynamic load conditions
- Mounting: Flush mounting, stable operating characteristics around metal surroundings
- Switching function: NO, used in typical machine control applications
- Cable length: 3 m, cable sensors have a fixed, factory-made electrical connection to the installation
- Supply voltage: DC 10-30V, widely used power supply in control systems
Applications
- Production transport – The NF part-presence sensor monitors the presence of aluminium components in production transport systems.
- Aluminium packaging – The NF part-presence sensor performs well on packaging lines for aluminium packaging such as cans or foil.
- Stamping and blanking presses – The aluminium detector is used in presses for stamping and blanking aluminium parts.
- Inspection before stamping – The NF proximity sensor is used to check the presence of a part before the stamping cycle for aluminium sheets and components.
- Robotization of aluminium processes – The NF inductive sensor supports the robotization of aluminium processes, providing the automation system with information about the presence or position of the part.
Benefits/Features
- Inductive proximity sensor for aluminium – enables non-contact detection of the aluminium part, while individual aluminium filings and chips are not the actual detection target.
- Selective part detection – the solution allows inspection to be focused on the actual aluminium part, reducing the significance of individual filings and chips present around it.
- Proximity sensor for non-ferrous metals – performs well for non-contact inspection of aluminium parts and other non-ferrous metals.
- Inspection of the actual workpiece – the solution is designed to detect aluminium and non-ferrous parts, not individual fragments generated during machining.
- Resistance + selective detection – the solid construction allows operation in a harsh environment, while the detection characteristics focus on the actual aluminium workpiece.
When to choose this model
- For pressing aluminium parts – the non-contact detection sensor can confirm the presence of the actual part before starting the next stage of the process.
- When aluminium is the main detection material – this aluminium sensor will be a better choice than a solution selected purely as a universal metal sensor.
- When cutting generates aluminium chips – the solution will work well in applications where the goal is to detect the actual workpiece, not individual chips generated during machining.
- For demanding industrial applications – the full-metal inductive sensor will be a suitable choice when, besides aluminium detection, construction durability is important.
The diameter of an inductive sensor is a dimension that defines the width of the sensor element measured in millimeters. This is an important technical parameter as it affects the mounting method and the space required for installation.
Rated detection range is a key parameter of an inductive sensor.Indicates the distance at which the sensor changes its output state when a metal object approaches its front end axially. This is the sensor's most important functional feature—it determines how close the object being detected must be in order to be registered.
