The NMF30013-NF inductive sensor, in a full-metal design, combines high mechanical resistance with selective detection of aluminium and other non-ferrous metals.
This M30 model ensures reliability in industrial installations with intensive use. The Ø30 x 55 mm housing provides maximum installation stability in heavy-industry systems and large production machinery.
Technical specification:
- Diameter: M30, designed for heavy industry and demanding industrial automation applications
- Length: 55 mm, better resistance to shocks, vibration, and mechanical stress
- Detection range: 13 mm, wear resistance thanks to the non-contact metal detection method
- Detected materials: Aluminium and other non-ferrous metals (steel ignored), steel and its derivatives are not a detection target, which reduces the number of unwanted signals in aluminium processes
- Correction factor K: K = 1 for aluminium (full rated sensing range), the full rated range for aluminium makes it easier to design applications without additional assumptions about range reduction
- Housing: Threaded, a standard solution used in industrial automation and control systems
- Housing material: Stainless steel, high resistance to corrosion and chemical exposure
- Sensor face material: Stainless steel, high mechanical resistance to impact, abrasion, and damage
- Mounting: Non-flush mounting, requires maintaining adequate clearance from surrounding metal parts
- Switching function: NO, normally open resting state, consistent with standard operating logic
- Cable length: 2 m, the cable design withstands vibration and frequent installation movement
- Supply voltage: DC 10-30V, protection against typical supply voltage fluctuations
Applications
- Stamping and pressing of sheet metal – Using the inductive proximity sensor supports automation of stamping and pressing processes for aluminium sheet metal.
- Robots welding aluminium structures – Applications of the NF proximity sensor include checking the presence of parts in robots welding aluminium structures.
- Bicycle frames and components – The NF full-metal inductive sensor performs well on production lines for aluminium bicycle frames and components.
- Inspection before resistance welding on the production line – Using the part-presence sensor before the resistance-welding process makes it possible to verify that the aluminium component is in the correct position.
- Applications with aluminium filings – The non-ferrous metal detector performs well in applications with aluminium filings, where the actual detection target is a larger, solid workpiece, not fine machining residue.
Benefits/Features
- Metal sensing face – the robust metal sensing face performs well in the direct vicinity of machinery, where aluminium parts are detected and individual filings or chips are not the actual detection target.
- Selective part detection – the solution allows inspection to be focused on the actual aluminium part, reducing the significance of individual filings and chips present around it.
- Material specialization – the parameters were selected for applications involving aluminium and non-ferrous metals, not for detecting fine metallic contaminants.
- For non-ferrous metals – the solution can be used to inspect parts made of aluminium and other non-ferrous materials, while retaining characteristics aimed at the actual workpiece.
- Resistance + selective detection – the solid construction allows operation in a harsh environment, while the detection characteristics focus on the actual aluminium workpiece.
When to choose this model
- For aluminium cutting – the sensor for detecting aluminium will work well for checking the presence and position of parts before a cutting operation.
- For aluminium positioning – choose the part-position sensor when correct alignment of the aluminium part is a precondition for performing the next operation.
- When cutting generates aluminium chips – the solution will work well in applications where the goal is to detect the actual workpiece, not individual chips generated during machining.
- When you need a combination of durability and K = 1 – choose the full-metal proximity sensor if the application requires a resistant construction and the full rated range for aluminium.
The diameter of an inductive sensor is a dimension that defines the width of the sensor element measured in millimeters. This is an important technical parameter as it affects the mounting method and the space required for installation.
Rated detection range is a key parameter of an inductive sensor.Indicates the distance at which the sensor changes its output state when a metal object approaches its front end axially. This is the sensor's most important functional feature—it determines how close the object being detected must be in order to be registered.
