The NMF30013-FE full-metal inductive sensor is designed for selective detection of steel and ferromagnetic materials, while completely ignoring aluminium components and other non-ferrous metals.
The M30 standard product is an element of automation installations with increased durability. The large Ø30 x 55 mm size allows use in locations that require an exceptionally secure mount and a long service life.
Technical specification:
- Diameter: M30, very large inductive sensor diameter provides maximum detection range
- Length: 55 mm, better resistance to shocks, vibration, and mechanical stress
- Detection range: 13 mm, stable inductive switching characteristics under industrial conditions
- Detected materials: Steel and other ferrous metals (aluminium ignored), aluminium and its alloys are not the detection target, which eliminates unwanted signals in mixed-metal processes involving non-ferrous components
- Correction factor K: K = 1 for steel (full, natural sensing range), the K = 1 correction factor applies to steel and other ferrous metals as the reference material, meaning the rated operating distance Sn is the full, natural detection range
- Housing: Threaded, resistant to loosening during machine operation and vibration
- Housing material: Stainless steel, suited for operation in moisture, dirt, and harsh industrial conditions
- Sensor face material: Stainless steel, high mechanical resistance to impact, abrasion, and damage
- Mounting: Non-flush mounting, wider lateral field of action expands application possibilities
- Switching function: NO, output activated upon detecting a metal object
- Cable length: 2 m, the cable ensures a highly reliable connection in industrial conditions
- Supply voltage: DC 10-30V, widely used power supply in control systems
Applications
- Stamping and pressing of steel sheets – The use of the inductive proximity sensor supports automation of steel processing operations while completely disregarding aluminium process waste.
- Steel chassis and wheel rims – The inductive sensor for steel is used on production lines for steel chassis parts and wheel rims to check the presence and position of the part.
- Assembly of steel building structures – The FE inductive sensor supports the automation of steel structure assembly processes in the construction industry.
- Checking before steel welding – The inductive sensor for steel performs well at welding stations, where it checks the correct position of components before the process begins.
- Compact detection layouts – The compact design of the FE sensor makes it easier to design steel detection stations in locations with limited installation space.
Benefits/Features
- Specialisation for steel – the solution was developed to detect the actual steel components, without being aimed at detecting aluminium and its alloys.
- Contactless detection of steel – the component can be detected without mechanical contact with its surface, while aluminium components in the surroundings are not the actual detection target.
- Durable construction – the monolithic construction increases the resistance of the solution used to check steel components.
- K=1 + actual range – combining these parameters makes it easier for the designer to determine the required distance to the steel part.
- Steel component position sensor – can check the position of a part in a machine, while aluminium components in the surroundings are not the actual detection target.
When to choose this model
- For steel stamping – it is worth using it to check the presence of a steel sheet, part or component before starting the stamping cycle.
- For checking the position of ferrous components – the model will perform well in applications where non-ferrous metals are present alongside steel.
- When aluminium contamination is present at the station – the steel detection sensor can be used to check the actual part without risk of false triggering from aluminium.
- When you need contactless steel checking – the contactless sensor allows checking the presence and position of a part without mechanical contact with its surface.
The diameter of an inductive sensor is a dimension that defines the width of the sensor element measured in millimeters. This is an important technical parameter as it affects the mounting method and the space required for installation.
Rated detection range is a key parameter of an inductive sensor.Indicates the distance at which the sensor changes its output state when a metal object approaches its front end axially. This is the sensor's most important functional feature—it determines how close the object being detected must be in order to be registered.
