The advanced NMF30011-NF inductive sensor from the NF series supports the automation of processes where the material to be detected is aluminium, not steel.
The M30 sensor ensures continuous operation in monitoring and control systems. The Ø30 x 55 mm housing guarantees an exceptionally secure fit in structures exposed to heavy mechanical loads.
Technical specification:
- Diameter: M30, stable operation at long detection distances and under intensive use
- Length: 55 mm, larger threaded mounting surface provides a more stable fit
- Detection range: 13 mm, stable inductive switching characteristics under industrial conditions
- Detected materials: Aluminium and other non-ferrous metals (steel ignored), detection focused on the actual aluminium part, not on individual filings or chips generated during machining
- Correction factor K: K = 1 for aluminium (full rated sensing range), the actual sensing range allows the model to be selected based on the actual distance to the aluminium workpiece
- Housing: Threaded, resistant to loosening during machine operation and vibration
- Housing material: Stainless steel, high resistance to corrosion and chemical exposure
- Sensor face material: Stainless steel, capable of operating in coolants, oils, and industrial emulsions
- Mounting: Non-flush mounting, fully exposed detection zone provides maximum sensing range
- Switching function: NO, signal generated during detection of a metal object
- Cable length: 2 m, cable sensors are used where a durable, sealed, non-detachable connection is required
- Supply voltage: DC 10-30V, protection against typical supply voltage fluctuations
Applications
- Automotive assembly lines – The NF aluminium detector enables position control of aluminium parts on automotive assembly lines.
- Inspection before resistance welding – The NF sensor supports automatic position checking of parts before resistance-welding aluminium components at welding stations.
- Automatic parts feeding – Use in automatic feeding of aluminium parts on production lines increases process flow.
- Inspection before pressing – Applications of the NF sensor include confirming the presence of the actual aluminium part before starting the next pressing stage.
- Automatic metal presence inspection – The metal presence detector is used at production stages where what matters is detecting the entire aluminium workpiece, not individual metallic contaminants.
Benefits/Features
- Non-ferrous metal detection – the device performs well when inspecting parts made of aluminium and other non-ferrous materials, where fine metal residue should not be treated as the actual workpiece.
- No reaction to individual aluminium filings – the solution is designed to detect the actual part, so individual aluminium particles are not treated as the intended detection target.
- Construction for demanding applications – the full-metal design allows the solution to be used in machines where mechanical resistance and reliable detection of the actual part are important.
- K = 1 + actual range – the combination of these parameters makes it easier for the designer to determine the required distance to the aluminium workpiece.
- Predictable design – the actual range stated in the documentation allows the system to be designed in line with specific aluminium detection requirements.
When to choose this model
- For inspecting parts before resistance welding – the non-contact sensor enables presence checking of a part without mechanical contact with its surface.
- For aluminium production lines – choose the aluminium sensor when you need automatic checking of part presence and position.
- When you want to inspect the actual part instead of production waste – choose a solution designed to detect the aluminium workpiece, not fine fragments generated during machining.
- When you need non-contact aluminium inspection – the non-contact sensor makes it possible to check the presence and position of a part without mechanical contact with its surface.
The diameter of an inductive sensor is a dimension that defines the width of the sensor element measured in millimeters. This is an important technical parameter as it affects the mounting method and the space required for installation.
Rated detection range is a key parameter of an inductive sensor.Indicates the distance at which the sensor changes its output state when a metal object approaches its front end axially. This is the sensor's most important functional feature—it determines how close the object being detected must be in order to be registered.
