The NMF30001-NF inductive sensor detects only aluminium and non-ferrous metals, ignoring the presence of steel in the sensing area.
The M30 version has been designed for automation systems requiring high durability. The larger Ø30 x 55 mm diameter translates into high resistance to shifting, vibration, and demanding working conditions.
Technical specification:
- Diameter: M30, very large inductive sensor diameter provides maximum detection range
- Length: 55 mm, better resistance to shocks, vibration, and mechanical stress
- Detection range: 10 mm, detection range depending on the diameter and design of the inductive sensor
- Detected materials: Aluminium and other non-ferrous metals (steel ignored), material selectivity makes it possible to disregard fine metal residue that should not be treated as the actual workpiece
- Correction factor K: K = 1 for aluminium (full rated sensing range), the full rated range for aluminium makes it easier to design applications without additional assumptions about range reduction
- Housing: Threaded, resistant to loosening during machine operation and vibration
- Housing material: Stainless steel, suited for operation in moisture, dirt, and harsh industrial conditions
- Sensor face material: Stainless steel, resistance to corrosion in humid and chemical environments
- Mounting: Flush mounting, limited lateral detection field increases operating stability
- Switching function: NO, output activated upon detecting a metal object
- Cable length: 2 m, the cable design withstands vibration and frequent installation movement
- Supply voltage: DC 10-30V, compatible with PLC systems and industrial automation
Applications
- Positioning of aluminium profiles – Using the part-position sensor in aluminium profile positioning systems increases the reliability of industrial automation processes.
- Cutting, milling and turning of aluminium – Use in automating aluminium cutting, milling and turning processes increases production efficiency, even when machining chips are present around the workpiece.
- Electronic enclosures – Use in the production of aluminium electronic enclosures supports automatic assembly control.
- Packaging and labelling – Applications of the NF non-contact sensor include checking the presence of aluminium parts at packaging and labelling stations.
- Positioning of aluminium parts – The NF inductive sensor supports the positioning of aluminium parts when correct part alignment is a precondition for the next operation.
Benefits/Features
- Monolithic build – being machined from a single piece of metal increases the durability of the solution intended for industrial detection of aluminium and other non-ferrous metals.
- Reduction of unwanted signals – disregarding individual filings and chips can reduce unwanted signals in processes where the actual target is a larger, solid aluminium workpiece.
- Distance-to-part inspection – can be used to check the position of an aluminium surface relative to the sensing element.
- Fewer random signals – reducing reactions to fine aluminium residue can be beneficial in applications where what matters is the presence of the whole part.
- Detection excluding filings and chips as the actual target – the solution was designed to inspect a solid aluminium part, not to detect fine machining residue.
When to choose this model
- For inspecting parts before resistance welding – the non-contact sensor enables presence checking of a part without mechanical contact with its surface.
- For automatic assembly stations – the part-detection sensor will work well for checking the presence of aluminium components before assembly.
- For applications with aluminium after machining – the model can be used to check the presence of the actual component in an environment where machining residue is present.
- When aluminium must be detected while individual filings and chips are ignored – choose this model for applications where the actual detection target is a solid workpiece, not the fine residue left after its machining.
The diameter of an inductive sensor is a dimension that defines the width of the sensor element measured in millimeters. This is an important technical parameter as it affects the mounting method and the space required for installation.
Rated detection range is a key parameter of an inductive sensor.Indicates the distance at which the sensor changes its output state when a metal object approaches its front end axially. This is the sensor's most important functional feature—it determines how close the object being detected must be in order to be registered.
