The NMF30012-NF inductive sensor is an industrial-grade solution designed for detecting aluminium workpieces, where individual filings and chips should not trigger a detection signal.
The M30 sensor supports machine performance in modern technological production lines. The Ø30 x 55 mm housing enables stable operation in environments with high mechanical dynamics and heavy loads.
Technical specification:
- Diameter: M30, high mechanical and environmental resistance guarantees a long sensor service life
- Length: 55 mm, larger threaded mounting surface provides a more stable fit
- Detection range: 13 mm, wear resistance thanks to the non-contact metal detection method
- Detected materials: Aluminium and other non-ferrous metals (steel ignored), steel and its derivatives are not a detection target, which reduces the number of unwanted signals in aluminium processes
- Correction factor K: K = 1 for aluminium (full rated sensing range), the full rated range for aluminium makes it easier to design applications without additional assumptions about range reduction
- Housing: Threaded, fastening with lock nuts ensures a stable installation
- Housing material: Stainless steel, resistance to aggressive industrial environments and mechanical damage
- Sensor face material: Stainless steel, resistance to corrosion in humid and chemical environments
- Mounting: Non-flush mounting, high detection sensitivity for demanding industrial applications
- Switching function: NC, output closed at rest ensures continuous signal monitoring
- Cable length: 2 m, the cable ensures a highly reliable connection in industrial conditions
- Supply voltage: DC 10-30V, widely used power supply in control systems
Applications
- Vehicle production – Applications of the NF inductive sensor include detecting aluminium parts in automated vehicle production systems.
- Machining fixtures – The non-ferrous metal detector detects the presence of aluminium workpieces in machining fixtures with high repeatability.
- Transport and sorting systems – The inductive sensor for non-ferrous metals performs well in component transport and sorting systems.
- Packaging and labelling – Applications of the NF non-contact sensor include checking the presence of aluminium parts at packaging and labelling stations.
- Inspection after cutting/machining – Applications of the NF proximity sensor include inspecting parts after machining, even in environments containing fine aluminium fragments.
Benefits/Features
- Metal sensing face – the robust metal sensing face performs well in the direct vicinity of machinery, where aluminium parts are detected and individual filings or chips are not the actual detection target.
- Non-contact aluminium detection – the part can be detected without mechanical contact with its surface, while individual filings and chips are not the actual detection target.
- Part position inspection – enables automatic position checking of a part made of aluminium or another non-ferrous metal.
- For applications with aluminium chips – performs well where fine chips generated during machining should not be treated as the detected part.
- Non-contact material inspection – the solution enables automatic detection of aluminium parts without physical contact with the workpiece and without being aimed at individual filings.
When to choose this model
- For aluminium resistance welding – the part-presence sensor can check the correct position of aluminium parts before the resistance-welding process begins.
- For automatic metal presence inspection – the metal presence detector can be used to confirm the presence of the actual aluminium workpiece in the process.
- When cutting generates aluminium chips – the solution will work well in applications where the goal is to detect the actual workpiece, not individual chips generated during machining.
- For aluminium welding stations – non-contact position checking makes it possible to verify that a part is in the correct location before an operation begins.
The diameter of an inductive sensor is a dimension that defines the width of the sensor element measured in millimeters. This is an important technical parameter as it affects the mounting method and the space required for installation.
Rated detection range is a key parameter of an inductive sensor.Indicates the distance at which the sensor changes its output state when a metal object approaches its front end axially. This is the sensor's most important functional feature—it determines how close the object being detected must be in order to be registered.
