The NMF30002-NF full-metal inductive sensor provides the full rated sensing range for aluminium (K = 1), without the typical range reduction applied to non-ferrous metals.
The M30 inductive sensor is an element of large-scale production installations. The Ø30 x 55 mm format allows use in systems requiring a large active surface, high resistance, and reliable operation.
Technical specification:
- Diameter: M30, designed for heavy industry and demanding industrial automation applications
- Length: 55 mm, suited for operation in demanding industrial conditions
- Detection range: 10 mm, detection range depending on the diameter and design of the inductive sensor
- Detected materials: Aluminium and other non-ferrous metals (steel ignored), steel and its derivatives are not a detection target, which reduces the number of unwanted signals in aluminium processes
- Correction factor K: K = 1 for aluminium (full rated sensing range), the full rated range for aluminium makes it easier to design applications without additional assumptions about range reduction
- Housing: Threaded, allows precise positioning of the sensor during installation
- Housing material: Stainless steel, increased mechanical strength of the housing ensures a long service life
- Sensor face material: Stainless steel, increased durability of the sensor's active face under intensive use
- Mounting: Flush mounting, reduced sensitivity to mechanical damage during use
- Switching function: NC, output disconnects upon detecting a metal object
- Cable length: 2 m, the cable ensures a highly reliable connection in industrial conditions
- Supply voltage: DC 10-30V, protection against typical supply voltage fluctuations
Applications
- Automotive assembly lines – The NF aluminium detector enables position control of aluminium parts on automotive assembly lines.
- Inspection before resistance welding – The NF sensor supports automatic position checking of parts before resistance-welding aluminium components at welding stations.
- Anodizing and surface treatment – Used to check the position of aluminium profiles on anodizing and surface treatment lines.
- Packaging and labelling – Applications of the NF non-contact sensor include checking the presence of aluminium parts at packaging and labelling stations.
- Multiple processes in one solution – The NF inductive sensor is used where a single solution must handle multiple aluminium-related processes: cutting, stamping, welding, resistance welding, assembly and transport of parts.
Benefits/Features
- Monolithic build – being machined from a single piece of metal increases the durability of the solution intended for industrial detection of aluminium and other non-ferrous metals.
- No reaction to individual aluminium chips – fine chips are not the actual part that is meant to be detected when inspecting an aluminium workpiece.
- Operating selectivity – the ability to disregard individual filings and chips allows operation to be focused on the actual aluminium workpiece.
- Fewer random signals – reducing reactions to fine aluminium residue can be beneficial in applications where what matters is the presence of the whole part.
- Detection excluding filings and chips as the actual target – the solution was designed to inspect a solid aluminium part, not to detect fine machining residue.
When to choose this model
- For inspecting parts after cutting – the part-presence sensor will work well for automatically confirming that an aluminium workpiece is in the correct position.
- For automatic assembly stations – the part-detection sensor will work well for checking the presence of aluminium components before assembly.
- When you don't need a contaminant detector – choose this model if the device's task is to detect the actual aluminium part, not to check for metallic contaminants.
- For robotizing aluminium processes – the part-detection sensor can supply the automation system with information about the presence or position of the aluminium workpiece.
The diameter of an inductive sensor is a dimension that defines the width of the sensor element measured in millimeters. This is an important technical parameter as it affects the mounting method and the space required for installation.
Rated detection range is a key parameter of an inductive sensor.Indicates the distance at which the sensor changes its output state when a metal object approaches its front end axially. This is the sensor's most important functional feature—it determines how close the object being detected must be in order to be registered.
