An industrial inductive sensor NIS18441 with a PBT sensing face combines a compact design with high durability.
The M18 sensor belongs to a series of devices for precise detection in industrial environments. The Ø18 x 79 mm sensor is a solid solution for installations requiring greater durability and secure fixing.
Technical specification:
- Diameter: M18, reinforced construction for operation in harsh conditions
- Length: 79 mm, better resistance to vibration and stress
- Sensing range: 12 mm
- Housing: Threaded housing sensor
- Housing material: Nickel-plated brass, good protection against standard corrosion
- Sensing face material: PBT,
- Mounting: Flush mounting
- Switching function: NO, signal generated upon metal detection
- Cable length: n/d
- Supply voltage: DC 10-30V, commonly used control supply
Applications
- Position control of parts in automotive assembly lines.
- Operation in high-dynamics industrial environments.
- Support for automatic packaging systems.
- Application in robotic axis positioning systems.
- Application in machine safety and interlock systems.
Features and Benefits
- Signal repeatability in mass production processes
- High precision positioning of elements in robotic systems
- Stable operation in high-duty cycle machines
When to choose this model
- Used in large production lines.
- Chosen for larger metal parts.
- Suitable for dusty and vibration-heavy conditions.
- Suitable for long continuous operation.
Connection
The sensor has an NPN output, so connect it with an M12 4-pin connection cable without LEDs. Cables with LEDs (NXOC12281…, NXOC12401…) have a yellow status LED wired for a PNP output and are not suitable for NPN sensors.
The diameter of an inductive sensor is a dimension that defines the width of the sensor element measured in millimeters. This is an important technical parameter as it affects the mounting method and the space required for installation.
Rated detection range is a key parameter of an inductive sensor.Indicates the distance at which the sensor changes its output state when a metal object approaches its front end axially. This is the sensor's most important functional feature—it determines how close the object being detected must be in order to be registered.
