An inductive sensor NIS18356 with a PBT sensing face is a robust component for modern automation systems.
The M18 sensor fits into a range of products used in production systems. The Ø18 x 53 mm diameter provides a larger mounting surface, which results in stable seating of the sensor in the structure.
Technical specification:
- Diameter: M18, increased resistance to shocks and vibrations
- Length: 53 mm, designed for demanding operating conditions
- Sensing range: 20 mm
- Housing: Threaded housing sensor
- Housing material: Nickel-plated brass, used in standard industrial applications
- Sensing face material: PBT,
- Mounting: non-flush mounting
- Switching function: NO & NC
- Cable length: n/d
- Supply voltage: DC 10-30V, protection against typical voltage fluctuations
Applications
- Support for automation of welding processes and steel structure assembly.
- Position control of machine axes and working components.
- Detection of metal elements and components in packaging systems.
- Use in automatic assembly systems.
- Use in actuator and mechanism control systems.
Features and Benefits
- Signal repeatability in mass production processes
- Stable operation in CNC machines and automation systems
- Reliable operation in automated packaging systems
- Reliable synchronization of machines and robots
- Versatile use in different OEM machine types
When to choose this model
- Good for environments with high vibration levels.
- Ensures stable long-range detection.
- Used in industrial transport lines.
- Used in mass production.
Connection
The sensor has two outputs, NO and NC, on separate pins (NO on pin 4, NC on pin 2), so connect it with an M12 4-pin connection cable without LEDs, which brings out both pins separately. In cables with LEDs (NXOC12281…, NXOC12401…) pins 2 and 4 are joined inside the connector, so they are not suitable for sensors with two outputs.
The diameter of an inductive sensor is a dimension that defines the width of the sensor element measured in millimeters. This is an important technical parameter as it affects the mounting method and the space required for installation.
Rated detection range is a key parameter of an inductive sensor.Indicates the distance at which the sensor changes its output state when a metal object approaches its front end axially. This is the sensor's most important functional feature—it determines how close the object being detected must be in order to be registered.
